The Specialized Rescue Team:
In 1996, a joint venture between Jonesfield and Lakefield Township Fire Department was forged to create a rescue team capable of performing specialized rescues involving high-angles, confined spaces and trench collapse.
From this venture arose the Jonesfield and Lakefield Township Specialized Rescue Team. The twenty-two member team provides 24 hr./7 days a week specialized rescue protection to the communities of Jonesfield and Lakefield Township and Thomas Township and surrounding jurisdictions.
Members tabulate an excess of two hundred and fifty hours of training annually including a two-day training exercise in Findley Ohio.
Rescue equipment is carried on Jonesfield and Lakefield Township Squad One, an enclosed trailer with each vehicle having a full compliment of ropes, harnesses, personnel protective equipment, self contained breathing air, chain saw, cutting torch, shoring materials and ventilation equipment.
The Hazardous Material Response Team
The Jonesfield and Lakefield Township Fire Departments have also developed and implemented a Hazardous Materials Response Team to serve Jonesfield and Lakefield Community.
This Team has a fully-equipped trailer housing Level A type response and mitigation materials, personal protective clothing and detection devices. In conjunction with Jonesfield and Lakefield Fire Department certified hazardous materials members, the HMR Team provides technician capabilities to the quarter million citizens in Jonesfield and Lakefield Community.
